TEKDEP is a great repair shop. Brought in my MacBook Pro because my display was broken. I spoke with David on the phone and he helped me in person as well. He replaced my laptop screen quickly, efficiently and at a reasonable price. Thank you, David for your help and exceptional customer service! Came here for an emergency battery replacement. I’m so glad I came across TekDeps Store and they were able to get my MacBook’s battery fixed same day ! They recommended to backup before coming but I wasnt able to and my MacBook booted up as normal as I use it. The Team here is great and friendly! Amazing experience. This place will definitely be my go-to for all things Mac/iPhone repair. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with my 6 yr old MacBook and Nicholas took good care of me. Had a new battery installed and cleaned up (could only imagine what was under there after all these years.. which definitely explains why my fan was running sometimes non-stop). Anyhow, all taken care of in a couple hours! If I knew it would be this easy I would have brought it in sooner, but I’m that person that waited until I was having mega issues due to an old battery. Highly, highly recommend!

I accidentally broke my Macbook Pro LCD for the first time in my life 😭 Initially, I got a quote from Apple saying the repairs would cost $600. I searched Google for more cost efficient alternatives and stumbled upon a glowing review for Tekdep. I was having trouble charging my phone and was convinced something was wrong with the charging port pins. I figured I’d have to get it replaced, which I wasn’t looking forward to. But when I took it in, they told me it just needed a good cleaning! Turns out, dust and lint had built up inside the port, preventing the charger from connecting properly. After a quick clean, my phone was charging like new again—no expensive repairs needed!

While I was there, I also got a screen protector put on for a really good price. I usually put them on myself (and mess them up), so having it professionally applied was a nice bonus. Overall, I’m really happy with the service. If your phone isn’t charging, definitely check for dirt in the port before assuming the worst. Sometimes, a simple fix is all you need!

Review for TEKDEP Computer Shop on Topanga Canyon Boulevard
I recently visited TEKDEP, located on Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills, for some computer repair and sales services. They specialize in both new and used computers, monitors, Apple products, and PC (Windows-based) devices.
The service I received was excellent. John, the owner, runs a great business, and I was particularly impressed with David, who assisted me during my visit. He was incredibly professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about the products and services offered.
What truly stands out about TEKDEP is their fantastic customer service. They really go above and beyond to ensure that you're well taken care of, and their competitive pricing was the main reason I chose to visit. I highly recommend TEKDEP for anyone in need of computer sales or repairs.

I recently had my laptop repaired here, and while the overall service was generally good, I feel compelled to leave this 2-star review due to significant issues with how my repair was handled. I do want to recognize Nicolas, who was exceptionally helpful, professional, and knowledgeable throughout the process.

The issue involved replacing my SSD. Here are the main concerns I encountered:

1) Inconsistent Communication & Delays
When I first called, I was told the repair would be completed the same day and that my data would be transferred to the new SSD. After receiving no update, I had to call multiple times over the next two days. Each time I received conflicting information, and the repair wasn’t completed until just before closing hours—at 5:58 PM, despite being told I would receive a call by 3 PM.

2) Technical Oversight
When I picked up the laptop, I noticed the trackpad wasn’t functioning. Nicolas quickly identified that the technician had installed Windows 11 instead of Windows 10, which caused compatibility issues. While I appreciate that this was resolved on the spot, I had to wait an additional 45 minutes due to what appears to have been an avoidable mistake.

3) Data Loss & Miscommunication
The most frustrating part was discovering that all of my data—documents, files, etc.—was missing. I had been told during the initial call that data transfer would be included with the SSD replacement. When I called to address this, I was informed (by the same person I had previously spoken to) that data recovery would cost between $550 and $1,500, which is nearly triple the value of the laptop. Had I known this beforehand, I would have made other arrangements.

Losing my data has been incredibly upsetting, especially as it included important documents. While the in-person support from Nicolas was excellent, the overall handling of my repair—from communication to delivery—left me disappointed. I’m unlikely to return based on this experience.
