This bank has improved its customer service. A year ago I had a serious problem, I was leaving on 45 South, too much construction. I was stuck in traffic for around 45 minutes. It was so difficult get with them.I visited recently this bank and they took great care of me, all your staff. I congratulate all the staff! It is also the bank that lends you more money and gives you facilities to have a loan.

TDECU has been the worst bank to deal with by an astronomical amount. To start off I had a credit card with them missed one payment after losing my job that month and they decided to close access to the app and have me call in to their loans resolutions department. Seems a little drastic, but I’ll manage so I have been calling in for the last year and have had three incidents prior saying I was late on a payment when I had called the day it was due and come to find out the agent forgot to submit it and the current agent on the phone after making me go through bank statements and finding the specific time and amount comes out and says “ Oh well atleast we caught it before it reported on your credit.” So because of your incompetence my credit score can drop and I can understand once maybe twice but three times within a year. To put the cherry on top I was called this morning saying I was delinquent on my credit card after I had called a week prior, the day before my due date, to make a payment the agent said because I had paid the day before it went towards my principal and the not the upcoming due date the next day. After hearing this and having to pay a late fee I decided to pay off the credit card. I then asked for a statement to keep for my own records given their track record.She told me it can only be accessed via online banking. I go online and attempt to login the secondary security phone number is my old number that I had to call a few months back to be updated to my current one and like everything else was never done. I decide to call customer service they had me attempt to name off every road in galveston county and I tried to explain to her there are so many subdivisions being built around my childhood home I don’t know any of those and even looked on google maps and didn’t see a single one she listed. I was then told I would have to go into a branch to verify since I couldn’t answer those two questions I can tell you my mother maiden name, my full social and everywhere I ever lived but god forbid I’m not a walking atlas. I will be so glad to close my accounts tomorrow. If you’re looking for a new credit union check out Amoco or Shell. I have had less migraines in all the years I’ve had them combined than TDECU has given me in the last two years.

While I’ve experienced decent customer service at this specific branch, the tele customer service team is horrible. They have the worse customer service agents I’ve met. I was on the phone with a member and was confused so I kept asking questions only to be told, well it’s either you make a payment or not it’s your credit report it will impact when I’m simply trying to gain information. I wish I had written down her name but she was extremely rude. Their fraud department is also terrible and needs to be updated especially with new access to online payments and use. This is the only bank I receive any issues with when it relates to fraudulent charges

It’s Friday during peak hours lobby is closed and only 1 person working the drive thru apparently!! People are sitting outside their cars waiting because this is taking so long. Ridiculous man! Come on. People don’t have time to wait 45 minutes in a bank drive thru 🤦🏻😑

In response to TDECU’s comment: NO the lobby is not open, doors are LOCKED and there is a sign up that says the lobby is closed. Sooo?

I came to this Texas City location because I work right down the street from them maybe 15 mins or less. I got here at exactly 4:59pm a few cars in the parking lot one particular car stood out to because of the children in the back seat and the engine still running so I said I could be in luck got to the door it's locked smh a lady customer was walking out she said " they told me I had to leave because they were closed".... Wow the customer got into to one of the other vehicles that was parked so I left....my thing is this Tdecu used to be a good credit union I remember them closing at 6 in the drive thru this is such a inconvenience. I'm to the point where I'll take my money and bank else where

Do not bank at this location or with this Bank. If I could give a rating lower I would. I have been banking here for over a year and their customer service through my recent experience is seriously lacking. I have been trying to reach Caroline at the office for weeks and no return calls. I call the branch office and get the run around through the call center. The bank as a whole is ridiculous. They have no idea what customer service means. I literally just spoke to a customer service supervisor Kurt, employee ID number 21386 who lied. He said he was unable to place me in contact with the branch office. I Pointed out to him that I knew this was not accurate because customer service representatives I contacted through the call center he supervises transferee me to the branch. This has been a nightmare experience. Caroline said she would call me back over a week ago, I have heard nothing and I have attempted to contact her multiple times leaving messages to get no response. I am currently placed in a que again when I asked to speak to the branch Manager at the Texas City Office where I bank .Trust your money and business with a bank that knows what customer service means. I will finding another bank.

Update:

I went through the process of getting the promotion period authorize for my credit card with Carolyn Mitchell before making the balance transfer, or so I was led to believe. Only to discover Mrs Mitchell credibility is questionable and led to me having to pay interest after all. I would have never made the balance transfer on the card if I was given the true facts and told they would not honor the promotion period. Now Mrs Mitchell is claiming she doesn’t believe she is the one who assisted me or authorized the promotion period. I can’t stand poor customer service but what’s worse is a person who has poor credibility. Stay clear of this bank.

Update to post :

The Manager Rachel contacted me and said she was personally taking care of the interest issue on my credit card. I had lost faith there was anyone working for the bank who understood customer care but she has restored my faith. I will say her contacting me was a relief and restores my faith I made the right decision banking with TDECU. I also need to recognize Malika and Alex with Sugarland location because during the process I was transferred to Malika and she went above and beyond to assist me. Thank you for restoring my faith with the decision I made to bank withTDECU.

I applied for a simple checking and savings account online and followed all of the directions to scan my DL and submit the application. I had to resubmit my DL 3 times before I called and someone told me that they could not accept a scanned DL it had to be a picture taken with a phone. I waited another week while the only info I received if I logged on to my account was that it was pending approval. I finally called and was passed around and spent nearly an hour on the phone. I was then told that my Texas Drivers license was not a verification of address and I would have to submit a utility bill. NOWHERE during the application nor email correspondence was this mentioned. After 3 weeks of playing run a round I took my initial deposit back because if they can't get it straight with a simple checking and savings account, they definitely can't be trusted with the rest of my money.
1. If you need a document in a specific format, list it on the website or at least in that section of the application.
2. I have never had to take anything other than DL and SS card to apply for an account. If you have a special requirement communicate it.
3. If there is a problem with an application communicate what it is and don't leave the customer waiting in "pending approval" status.

I have never heard about this credit union before until I got my loan from this place. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CREDIT UNION, is terrible. They use a 3rd party company for insurance verification, I have insurance since day one, this 3rd party insurance place are the WORSE, they don’t do their job, have a supper bad attitude, They have a rep name BRIANA, she is the worst, they are lazy, they laziness add me $400 extra to my loan payment. I called this credit union to step in and hel and they don’t care, I told the guy at the end of the day they make look bad, I’m a member from this credit union not the 3rd party company, I have a loan with y’all not the other company. THEY DON’T CARE. This will be myFIRST and LAST time I do business with this credit union. TERRIBLE PLACE
