Words cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for these amazing surgeons - Dr. Tamer Seckin and Dr. Amanda Chu! Not only are they absolutely wonderful individuals but they are incredible endometriosis excision surgeons. Dr. Seckin and his team are the best of the best. From the care from the office staff to the care from the surgeons themselves the care I recieved was amazing.

After 9 years of living with endometriosis undiagnosed and an unsuccessful surgery with another surgeon where ablation was performed, Dr. Seckin & Dr. Chu forever changed and saved my life. Working with stage 3+ endometriosis over 3 hours they managed to remove 25 problematic samples including scar tissue & disease from my pelvis, bladder, liver, ovaries, and the list goes on. They also removed my appendix & a problematic fallopian tube.

When I woke up in the recovery room after the surgery, it was the best feeling I have ever experienced. The disease was gone. The endometriosis pain was gone. The girl I once knew was finally back.

No longer was I the very sick person who couldn’t eat, sleep, or even live my life at all properly but suddenly I was me again! My long fight was finally over. My parents got their child back again. My sister got her sister back. I got myself back 🙂

If you see this Dr. Seckin and team, thank you for giving me my life back and ultimately saving my life! I will never ever forget December 5th, 2024.

Worth it. Every bit of time, energy, finances, etc., was well worth it. The care that Dr. Seckin, Dr. Chu, their medical team, and those in their medical office provided was beyond exceptional and the sigh of relief that was truly needed. I am preparing to celebrate my birthday, the first birthday in almost 10 years in which I will not be experiencing intense physical pain. Having struggled with almost 10 years of increasing physical pain due to being diminished, disregarded, invalidated, and demeaned by the medical community, I now recognize that as incompetence and negligence by the medical industry. None of which I ever experienced with The Seckin Endometriosis Center, ever at any point. From my initial appointment in which I got to know the staff and Dr. Seckin, I felt reassured and supported all the way through. Since receiving treatment, I have regained such a healthy quality of life. This is all due to the efforts and services offered by The Seckin Endometriosis Center.

My health journey has looked a lot like the other women who have seen Dr Seckin—long, arduous, and exhausting. For 3 years before my surgery, I was dealing with chronic and painful bloating/distention, pelvic pain, and constipation/GI issues. I basically had every single test and imagining done but I kept getting the same result—I’m “fine.” I continued to advocate for myself knowing the IBS diagnosis couldn’t be the answer and root cause to my suffering and lowered quality of life.

It wasn’t until I saw Dr Seckin and Dr Chu that I finally wasn’t dismissed thinking my symptoms could be linked to my hormones or cycle. They believe the discomfort and pain I was in and they couldn’t be more empathetic, caring and supportive. They reassured me I would get the help and treatment I needed. From the pre op appointments and care from the team (including Nicoletta (RN), Delaney (PA), Cassandra (Surgical Coordinator), Clare (RA), and Brittney (Patient Care Coordinator) to my surgery day to my post op recovery, I couldn’t have been in better hands. I finally got the answer I was hoping for (I had endo) and the best treatment for it (excision surgery). They found tiny endometrial lesions in my abdominal wall—they wouldn’t have been able to see them if it weren’t for Dr Seckin’s Aqua Blue technique (basically uses blue dye to better see the lesions), since that revealed them and they were able to aggressively remove the lesions and surrounding inflammation. Just a week after my surgery—even though I was still very much in the recovery phase—I felt like a weight and heaviness was lifted from my abdomen. I knew my endo belly would be gone and that inflammatory feeling (no other way to describe it) would be gone. I’m over 2 months recovered and feel so happy with my decision to go with Dr Seckin and Dr Chu as my surgeons.

I know surgery is scary, but the team truly does the best job in preparing you for it, answering any and all questions, and working with you through the ups and downs of recovery. I couldn’t recommend them enough—they changed my life.

I can’t thank Dr. Chu, Dr. Seckin and their wonderful staff enough for all they have done for me! Seriously they are amazing! I suffered for years. I saw them at a time when I was desperate and I lost all hope in doctors. Dr Chu listened to me, and her staff helped me every step of the way. In addition to endometriosis excision, I had a total hysterectomy. I appreciated that I wasn’t shamed for that given my situation. Im 2 months post op and so far this has been life changing for me. My quality of life will only continue to get better from here. Dr. Chu gave me my life back, she gave me the opportunity to live my life again. I’d recommend anyone to this practice. This review is long overdue - Quite simply, Dr. Seckin saved my life. After 20+ years of horrendous menstrual cramps, ovarian cysts, birth control (which never alleviated those symptoms) and doctors who ignored my pain, I finally sought out help from Dr. Seckin. Dr. Seckin was patient and compassionate listening to my history and symptoms, and I felt confident entrusting my medical care to him. He and Dr. Chu performed a laparoscopy on me last year in which they found over 60 spots of endometriosis and validated the pain I had suffered for all these years. It was incredible that just months after my surgery that I needed only, and just maybe, an Advil for menstrual cramps. And significantly, only a few months after my laparoscopy, I became pregnant after trying to conceive for a year (and am now holding that baby in my arms). Thank you Dr. Seckin and Dr. Chu for everything.
