My mother is Dr Chen’s patient for a few years. Dr Chen is very professional and caring. Most importantly, he speaks fluent Chinese, so my mother can communicate directly with him. We really appreciate his patience in answering all her questions.

The staff was kind until the procedure started. I wasn’t warned I would get injections in my eye then sit for a half hour in the exam chair. So bright, so uncomfortable. I told the nurse I had been waiting so long I was worried the shots to numb my eye would wear off before the procedure and she said we could just do it again. AGAIN!? More shots because you all waited too long between the shots and procedure? I was miserable when I got home, I called the on call nurse and she was RUDE wanted me to get off the phone and wouldn’t tell me whether the pain I was still in hours later was normal.

PATIENT ADVOCACY MATTERS!

Let me start by saying that I love my moms Doctor. Dr. Chen who she’s been seeing for years now. I am grateful that he treats her with great care as any doctor would. Ana has also taken great care of my mom and I really wanna commend both of them for that.
However, in the past few visits that we’ve attended I was mortified to see the conversation that can be overheard. Things like being involved in “hit and runs” and having to attend court over it. Are you serious!
I would NEVER allow my mother to be alone in the same room as this immature individual. Not to mention her smell. You can actually smell the stench of her vape on her and to confirm it she walks around with it out!
This is a healthcare facility! This is not your home, patients with a wide array a medical problems come here and for management not to bring it to her attention is crazy to me. Why do I know they haven’t? I’ve seen this same individual at both the Pasadena and Bellaire location. You would think the facility managers would have been aware of this.
Thankfully my mother is not ASTHMATIC, but I am. Getting a wiff of her stench makes me get a hold of my inhaler just to make sure I don’t have an asthma attack. It’s that bad!
Is this what the company wants representing them?! I’ve managed to figure out that her name is Kay. Until this individual is removed I will not allow my mother, family, friends, ANYONE to consider being seen with RCTX.
I do not recommend this practice as long as this individual in working here. If she is this informs you that management is not taking patients comfort into consideration.

My advice is to call your insurance and find another in network provider.

That’s what I am currently doing, like I’ve stated I do not feel comfortable around this person so why would I allow my mother to? Especially when she’s by herself with a Kay, who thinks it’s funny to be loud and unprofessional.

Angelica asked several questions about my drops and shots for my eyes I didn’t realize that she didn’t have my records in front of her and her In other words she didn’t have my Kelsey records. My error.
We got it straight. She was very nice and helpful. I love my doctor Dr Larkin ( also my nieces doctor- family friend)

Dr Larkin and her staff are wonderful. My mother has had continuous issues with her eye that for some unknown reason keeps recurring (ocular shingles…). Whenever I call to say there is an issue with her eye again they get her in as soon as possible, they very attentive, informative and patient (my mom has a bit of dementia).
