Nice paved bike trail with a bridge that goes OVER the main railroad tracks that Amtrak uses. Great vantage point for anyone that is into railroad photography...

On the shoreline of pinole lies a hidden area of town that shares a view of the other side of the bay and the hills and valleys beyond. With a paved path don't worry about needing special shoes. To the west you get a glimpse of Mount Tam, and to the east the industrial area that looks more like a old Western town from this Angel. Watch for the trains for the tracks are closer than you think

Nice mile long trail that’s mostly flat with a few easy hills. You will see views of the bay, railroad tracks, and marshes along your walk. Great trail to get two miles in round trip.

Also, if you put in Pinole Shores Park in your GPS, it will lead you to the trail entrance that’s within a housing complex. The parking lot for this entrance of the trail wasn’t open when I visited in May 2022, so I parked in one of the few guests spots in the neighborhood. I suggest starting your hike from the Bayfront Park where there’s a parking lot.
