In 2018, the Office of the Ombuds at UCSF obtained Michael’s services to teach me and another staff member the necessary skills to manage a FileMaker database. We could not have been more pleased!

Neither I nor my co-worker had prior FileMaker experience, though I had recently attended a “beginner” class in downtown San Francisco, the department having paid hundreds of dollars for a 2-day course. It was fine for what it was (covered a little of just about everything) but I left that class no better equipped to utilize FileMaker in my job than I was before I took the class..

Michael is an excellent teacher! He is very patient, clear and easy to understand, and was able to teach us all the basics in under 2 hours. He also tailored part of his session to show us how to use FileMaker for our specific needs. Michael answered all our questions, and we came away from our session with more than enough knowledge to manage and design our database.

Michael’s prices are more than reasonable, and his expertise is well-worth his fee. Additionally, he is a very nice guy and quite enjoyable to work with.

We would not hesitate to recommend him, and he is the first person we will call if we should need future assistance with FileMaker.

I’ve been working with Mike for about a year now. I found him on another site advertising himself as somewhat of an expert at File Maker. I don’t recall the details of his ad but I just searched for Filemaker. I met up with him after a few email exchanges and he helped me launch my file. I run a medical practice and had very specific functionality requests. I had prior experience building in Microsoft Access so I understand structure but I had no experience with filemaker. Mike’s knowledge and SPEED were impeccable. What I thought would take a few hours he accomplished in minutes. We’ve had several in person meetings and going on six or seven virtual meetings. He is responsive, knowledgeable, and usually responds to my texts immediately when I have simple little questions of him. His rates in my opinion are low (I think he under estimates the value of his work), especially since it would take me five times as long to learn and do it myself, I find him invaluable. He is quite pleasant too. I hear there is a negative review of him, and I understand you can’t please everyone all the time. But my experience - I have absolutely no complaints AT ALL. Totally worth the time and money. I will continue to use him I am sure for some time to come.

Michael totally saved me when my Filemaker database crashed. I thought a year or so of financial data was corrupted beyond use, but he sorted it out in just a couple hours. (I should note that he had nothing to do with designing database and the subsequent crash related to its poor design.) He was professional, friendly, easy to work with. Highly recommended!
