Highly highly recommend Joachim’s Training! Doug is the absolute best! My boyfriend and I wanted to train together and after a few months we are both stronger, leaner and more committed to our goals. Doug is very attentive to our individual needs, amending work out plans to fit our strengths and accommodate (and improve) our weaknesses. He’s extremely responsive to our requests, even in-between sessions and customizes “homework” for us each week.

I’ll never look forward to push ups, but I do look forward to getting Doug’s report on my week to week push up progress.

I’ve been working with Doug for six months now and I’m in the best shape of my life. His dedication to health & fitness extends beyond the job. He is intelligent and always includes peer reviewed studies / articles when he shares information. He shares in his clients’ frustrations- when I told him that I had the tendency to fall off from workout routines mid-week, he started sending me texts mid-week to keep me on track. He is both realistic and inspiring when it comes to setting goals. His approach is geared towards life changes that can be sustained long after the initial weight loss / muscle gain. He’s funny, always greets you with a smile and just a cool guy. No apartment / space is too small. I am not exaggerating when I say working with Doug has been a life changing experience for me.

I've trained with Doug for 10+ years and he is truly the best trainer and person I have ever worked with. Not only is he incredibly smart, knowledgeable, professional and fun to work with, he truly cares about the people he works with and his job. I've also never been in better shape and seen better results than when I've worked with Doug - I am toned and in better shape than I could have ever imagined I could be. He also gives me advice on my diet, eating and sleep patterns, which has been so helpful. Even when I had an injury, he's worked with me on a personalized plan tailored to my needs at different times and is extremely flexible. Also on the days when I'm feeling unmotivated and don't want to work out, he puts me in a better mood and somehow motivates me and makes the workouts fun while also effective and challenging. He explains to me what each exercise targets and has also provided me with at-home creative routines and exercises based on my goals that I can do on the days when I'm not training with him. He has even filmed us doing them together so that I could easily follow them at home on my own. I could not say enough great things about Doug - he is truly the best trainer out there and an all around awesome person.

I cannot recommend Doug highly enough. About six months ago I found Doug/Joachim's Training via Google search and had my doubts about the success of the random search and outreach. I was simultaneously looking for physical therapist and/or a personal trainer - I needed to find a relatively affordable solution to coaching and fitness - someone who could push me to my max. and help me build strength (and look better for my wedding) without triggering injuries that resurface every time I try to self-train (going on 10+ years of these pesky pains). Doug has been the perfect solution to my problems! We work together on a weekly basis (and he gives me homework) and he holds me accountable. He pushes me to train harder (more reps, increased weight, etc.) while modifying exercises as/is needed to accommodate my old injuries. That said, we're not sacrificing our ability to hit certain muscle groups so I am making progress towards my goals. Doug takes a well-rounded approach to fitness, which works for me. We focus on work-outs, but we also discuss sleep, steps, diet, stress, etc. We're realistic and playing the long game, but after ~5 months I've already converted fat to muscle (dropping 2%+ body fat) and shred inches from my arms, legs, hips, and waist. Shredding for the wedding and strengthening to get pregnant, I couldn't have found a better trainer. Thanks Doug!

I have been working with Doug for years. He really helped me get in the shape of my life. His exercise routines are extremely efficient and fun. I used to take crossfit and was getting injured often. With Doug I've never got hurt. He is a real pro and great trainer.

I've been working out with Doug for over 15 years. He is an outstanding trainer, incredibly knowledgable, personable, and a true professional. Doug takes a thoughtful approach to develop individualized programs based on personal needs and goals. Every workout is different, challenging, fun, and engaging. He mixed cardio, strength training, resistance training body weight, and some PT exercises. I adore him and thoroughly enjoy working out with him. He's not only a great trainer but a great person. He takes the time to explain why he's giving a particular exercise and is able to adjust on the fly and make modifications as needed. I am noticeably stronger, leaner and have increased mobility and better movement from working with him. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I've had trainers at small private gyms and at large ones like Equinox. No trainer matched Doug's knowledge, patience and motivation. Although I've worked with him for years now, he still keeps workouts fun and new. Doug is also a great source for nutrition information...and a great person!

I've worked with multiple trainers over the years. Doug is by far the most knowledgeable. He is up on the latest fitness and nutrition studies and incorporates them into his work. He is patient and makes the workouts a lot of fun.
