I just had my baby there and my experience was so great. My labor and delivery nurse, Ashley, was absolutely Phenomenal! I felt so cared for, she exceeded expectations with her professionalism and dedication to making sure I was doing good. Doctor Davis was amazing as well. The whole team throughout my stay there was outstanding!

My daughter just had a baby at this hospital. I’ll say that most every nurse we encountered was amazing other then one nurse practitioner that will be reviewed on another post. We want to especially take note to her labor and delivery nurse Christina A. This nurse was excellent. She was polite, respectful, responsive, resourceful and gave my daughter so much peace just with her voice. We could clearly tell that she loves her job and people. I have never experienced such a wonderful bedside manner. She made my daughters experience extra special.

My elderly mom who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's was recently admitted to HCA Clearlake in Houston (General Surgery floor 5). Our experience with this hospital was beyond unacceptable. As a Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience I can tell you that I was highly disappointed with the care my mom received. In the week that my mom was admitted, only 1 nurse named Jean performed an actual nursing assessment during his shift (listening to lungs and bowels, checking her legs). There was no care plan communicated with our family, no skin assessment or skin precautions for my bedridden mom, and no discharge plan. I had to ask for SCD boots to be placed on my mom's legs to prevent DVT clots. I also noticed blisters on my mom's abdomen from the rubbing of a catheter and asked for a skin protectant cream. No one initiated change of position to prevent ulcers either. There was no routine check of my mom to make sure she did not need to be changed or cleaned up. My mom also only had 1 day of PT and no actual initiative to get her out of bed to the chair. She also did not have a bed bath for the first 5 days she was admitted and only got one after we pushed staff to give one, despite having signs posted that say baths should be given daily. Nurses were very loud at night and not considerate of patients trying to rest. The nursing supervisor Nekesha came into the room and stated she would come back to speak to us about my mom's care/discharge concerns and never did. We were disappointed in the push to quickly arrange for discharge of my mom without having stable electrolyte levels. There was also one day when the labs were incorrect and a second draw had to be done. There was a day when my mom's IV bag was empty and I called for someone to change it and no one came for 45 minutes. Another day her IV had infiltrated (blown) and her arm was swelling and no one would come to even take a look for more than 30 minutes. Staff had to use a bed pan to hold water for a bed bath because they stated they do not have wash basins in the hospital. Lastly, one time I came to visit my mom and she complained of back pain. When I sat her up in the bed and leaned her forward I found her to be laying on a bottle cap from a cleanser and it had left a red mark. I fear for the patients that will obtain care from this generation of nurses and particularly those from this institution. We will never return to this hospital or any other HCA hospital again.

I was lucky enough to give birth to my daughter in this great hospital today. The medical staff here are super nice and attentive. The nurses Taylor and Carissa are really excellent. I feel really lucky to have met them! grateful!

My recent visit to Solis Mammography was flawless. The staff greeting new arrivals for scheduled procedures were welcoming and efficient. I was quickly assisted and moved to the registration location. Again, very pleasant, efficient and helpful staff. The actual professional that did my study was amazing in every way. I appreciated her manner of caring for me while being friendly and professional. Anna and Erika were they 2 staff members that I would like to specifically acknowledge. As a registered professional nurse, I know great care. These ladies are wonderful, kind and helpful.

I never leave reviews, but I have to say something for anyone looking to get a genuine account of someone's experience at this hospital. I had both of my kids here, and each time was a dream (2020 & 2022.) Last week, I had surgery, and it was an incredible experience. I hated having to do it, but every person from the admins and volunteers, down to the doctors and nurses, was an absolute dream. They treated me like a human and put me at ease from the time I walked through the doors until the time I left. Despite my anxiety, I always know I'm in good hands when I'm being seen at HCA Clear Lake.

I recently had outpatient surgery and my experience from the pre-operation appointment to the moment I walked out of the building was excellent. All of the staff were friendly and professional. Before my surgery they efficiently checked us in and prepped us for the day. I knew exactly what to expect and what to do to expediate the healing process. EVERY member of my surgical team met with me before the surgery and went over what they would be doing and what to expect afterwards. The recovery room nurse was absolutely AMAZING. I could not have asked for a better experience. I really feel that their care helped me to recover better than I could have expected.

I genuinely can’t say enough about this place. They’re so great. Everyone is so nice every single step of the way whether you’re checking in it register dealing with financial dealing with the nurse’s doctors surgeons. They’ve all been so nice. I recently had a crazy fiasco were something happened with my chart and my surgery got postponed and I wasn’t even Upset about it because they make you feel so comfortable you could patiently just wait and be understanding.
