Dr. Joanna Slusky has been my friend and colleague for past 10 years. My friend referred me to her and I became a client. The staff at Halsted Eye Glass Boutique are top notch, very knowledgeable, and responsive. They also have the best technology, innovation, experience, and newest equipment in the business. This year I've purchased 5 pairs of eye glasses from Halsted. It's not about making a quick sale but also the follow through after the visits. I get text reminders of all my appointments along with phone calls from her staff to see how things are going. First this place has amazing doctors. All of them. Kind, smart and on top of it. The staff is incredible all around the board. I do have a favorite, DYLIN. He picked out amazing frames for me to try on and I picked one, then had second thoughts so he paused the order AND THEN I came back in TWO MORE times and tried on like every pair of glasses. And guess what? He was patient, funny, kind and man he knows what looks good on people. 10/10 will go back, will always recommend and I hope he works there forever unless it's not his dream then I hope he is doing whatever he loves forever. Without a doubt my experience here has been fantastic. From my vision exams and specifically to my very specific desire to get my hands on some Jacque Durand frames. A special call out for Nancy is required for her incredibly tireless work, in spite of several issues with the sales rep for the brand.

Nancy was able to be an advocate for me through the process, was resilient in keeping track until the frames arrived, ensured the frames were processed efficiently with the lens fitting and all doing this with amazing customer service and being very communicative the entire process. I had such a great experience overall that when I decided to order another frame, while it was not ordered through Halsted Eye Boutique, I had Halsted Eye Boutique take care of the important aspect of fitting the lens to the frames due to their excellent customer service and again, with specific call out to Nancy.

Nancy also went above and beyond by helping to pick up the frames from another Optician to ensure they could get fitted on time. I was so impressed by her willingness to go above and beyond but wasn't surprised as a result of my previous experience.

I'd highly recommend Halsted and will continue to refer my friends and family here. I know Nancy will provide them with the best customer experience.

I went to Halstead Eye Boutique for a few years and the care has always been good. However they seem to be more of a “business” than a doctor’s office. They are quite pushy when it comes to selling unnecessary eye care items such as eyelid wipes, fish oil supplements, etc, and they shuffle patients in and out quite fast. Today I received a text from them reminding me that I am due for my annual eye appointment and telling me that they scheduled an appointment for me… and I would be responsible for a cancellation fee if I didn’t cancel it before 24hrs ahead of the appointment. That is ridiculous! How could I be responsible for a cancellation fee of an appointment I never scheduled They lost my business with that text lmao, that is such a shady business practice.

For almost a decade now, Dr Slusky has been the only optometrist I trust with my eyes. Her and her team provide the highest of personalized care, thoughtful service and knowledgeable recommendations. Never rushed, always prioritized and I never feel I’m being talked down to (you know how some doctors can over-intellectualize or talk in “doctor speak” to you to try to push you to get more tests run). I literally feel seen (pun ironically works here!) by her and her team. My eyes prescription strength has even gone DOWN over the years because of her getting it right and knowing how best to maintain & improve the health of my vision. 10000% would recommend and encourage anyone to visit with Dr Slusky.
