I've been going to Wildwood Crest and the jolly Roger motel for most of my 62 years on this planet even when I was in Mommy's belly, the place has changed hands a lot but it's one of the great old fashioned motels with a really big pool nice people granted Wildwood was victim to the condo thing but. It's still a nice Town however someone my age in their 60s with friends and their 50s for one simple stupid reason that no one's reacting to because I don't think the township or county or whatever type of government governs that area realizes they could incorporate a ATV pulling a sort of tram car with side facing seats back and forth continuously during the day they could have a kiosk where you could press a button and someone would know to come there and pick you up with all the modern technology in that having to call someone , and granted the lifeguards are helpful, and they will take care of you and there's Beach taxi and so on but that's a real pain

You end up feeling guilty for calling someone but I measured it using GPS from the water's edge at low tide to the first Street almost exactly a quarter milesince Wildwood Crest is a quieter elderly Town how do you really expect people who are overweight over age to get the ocean water's edge Personally we're switching to Ocean City nice boardwalk a lot closer to the water I will miss Wildwood but I'm not going to have a heart attack trying to get to the beach or wait 20 minutes for someone to pick me up and everybody look at me like I'm an invalid

Here's a few suggestions something similar to a tram car system with little carts with side seeds you could even put seatbelts 6 to 8 people in each car 1A TV slow ride to the water no problem, something they do out on the west coast something akin to a Chinese rickshaw. Or even install some type of lightweight rail track similar to a narrow gauge rail it could be an inclined plane type system using metal wooden strap rail I don't know whatever I'm a real buff but you could put it in lightweight rail that a car could run on run by an operator . I don't know what the answer is but you need to figure something out . We can't call the shore vacation if you can't get people to the water . I'm a people watcher and I observed quite a few people, on the beach just turned around and gave up and went back and people at out Motel were talking about how they couldn't get to the water a lot of people drove up to North Wildwood,you shouldn't have to drive to the beach when you're across the street. Or maybe that's the answer allow Beach parking.. lol

But heed my words are remember them greater Wildwood chamber of commerce people, you need to figure out a system to get people to the beach without any effort you put in a nice sand washer kiosk behind the Port Royale nice benches beautiful new walkway, splash parks recreation Wildwood Crest has all the great stuff except a quarter mile walk to the water!!

Come up with a solution now before you turn around and realize no one's going to the beach anymore because they can't get there

Beware! Couldn't use tickets to a GWCOC event because of a death and when asked to return them, first the Executive Director ignored emails, then, when I persisted, she told me her policy is that tickets are non-refundable, no exceptions. BUT that's not on the tickets and she doesn't disclose that to ticket buyers when buying. Unprincipled, cruel, and inhumane. Lots of other great places to visit on the NJ shore - take your money elsewhere.

My friends and I were on the board walk in August and waited to see if they would play Kate Smith's National Anthem. They did play the Anthem but it was sung by Leanne Rimes (which she sung beautifully) and we were so glad to see every one stop and some with their hand over their heart. The next time we went up on the board walk a few days later it was sung by Leanne Rimes again. But as we were ready to start walking we were so elated to hear right after that Kate Smith's National Anthem played. I had tears in my eyes, as we stood there with our hands over our heart for the second Anthem that was sung by Kate Smith. We went into one of the restaurants on the board walk and a few of the waitresses said they wished they had of known that Kate Smith sung because they would have come out on the boardwalk for that. Thank you to everyone who was there who participated in honoring our USA!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
