I'm reposting this review after having deleted it a few years ago. I deleted it after the people at this company connected my review to me and my family and harassed me and my mom with "apology" phone calls which were obviously just attempts to get me to take the review down. where was my apology after you botched my basic return? Weeks went by with no apolgy until i post a bad review and then suddely you people are "sorry." Do you know my mom called me in tears asking me to take the review down because she was so mortified by your repeatedly calling her? Well im resposting this now because it's a review you people deserve.
At my mom's encouragement, I hired this company to handle my tax return as it had a few forms I had never done before, mainly a 1095-a which is for my health insurance return. She told me these people had been doing her taxes for her and her business for 8 years and the woman who files her taxes was also her friend. i had a general idea of what to expect on my return, but i agreed to have the woman who handles her taxes, handle mine. Shortly after she gets all my paperwork, she files the return, and the estimate she gives me on my return is over $2000 short of what i calculated I was due back. The amount the estimate was short by was the exact figure i calculated i was due back from my 1095-a. Also the fee she charged was half my return, according to her estimate. I tell my mom this and after some discussion she contacts her tax lady and tells her she thinks there was a mistake, but the lady gave her some BS excuse of why i "wasnt eligible for money back on my health insurance." But my mom filed out the 1095-a herself and saw that i was right so she persisted. Well then the tax lady stopped responding for a few days until she basically admitted that she didnt know how to file the 1095-a, and rather than learn how which would have taken 15 minutes, she filed my return without one and hoped that i would be too dumb to notice the lack of $2000+ off my return. She was prepared to rob of me of that and I am by no means financially well off which she would know because she filed my income. Well she filed an amended return so i had to wait extra months to get my money. So after this I tell my mom, "if she would screw up a basic return like mine so fantastically, who knows what she might have done to yours." So she takes years worth of paperwork to another tax person and sure enough, they find that she's due back $8000, and she does business with those people now.
So to sum them up, this is just a business of incompetents who do less than turbotax do and pray upon baby boomers who blindly "trust the experts" and dont ask questions. I cant imagine how much this company must have mishandled if over $10000 was lost among just two custimers. And to the people at this company: when you read this, DO NOT CONTACT MY MOM AGAIN. IF YOU CONTACT HER I WILL KNOW. I think i already had the grounds for a malpractice case, if i find out you've contacted her again regarding the review, i will be contacting the police.
