Caring Transitions did a great job. My parents were hoarders, and they worked efficiently and strenuously to empty out a 4,500 square ft house full of junk into 3 large bins, and properly disposed of a significant amount of paint. They also arranged for the charitable donation of a significant amount of furniture and personal property. We do not live locally, and they took care of everything and communicated incredibly well. Highly recommended!

We hired Caring Transitions to do a complete clean out of our parents home and sell some items in their in line auction. We also used them to stage the home to list it for sale. The experience was great. The team was thorough professional and efficient. Having one company to handle it all was amazing!

I am writing this review for my mom who dealt with Caring Transitions.

'I’m writing this review a year later because of how upset I’ve been about my nightmare experience with Michelle.

At first, Michelle came off strong and confident, which gave me hope. However, as the weeks went by, she became less and less involved. What she initially promised would be a fast and seamless process ended up dragging on for months.

To make matters worse, communication with Michelle was incredibly frustrating. I reached out multiple times and didn’t hear back, leaving me in the dark for long stretches of time.

On top of all that, the financial side was shocking. Michelle required a deposit, explaining that her clients typically get some of it back. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for me. I ended up paying the full deposit and an enormous additional amount I wasn’t expecting.

Overall, this experience was incredibly disappointing and stressful. I wouldn’t recommend working with Michelle based on what I went through.'

Michele and her crew were delightful. Our mutual was pleased with the pre-process and execution of the sale. The house was nearly emptied through a presale to existing clients and on the day of the sale with the crowd that showed up. I'd recommend Caring Transitions of Desert Cities to anyone that wants a high level of service.

I hired the Caring Transitions franchise in my home town of Monrovia, CA to help me pack up for my move to Sun City Palm Desert, where another Caring Transitions franchisee was supposed to get me fully and quickly unpacked and set up in my new home. I wanted to pay for the privilege of having moving stress REDUCED. They advertise: We Offer A Total Stress-Free
Relocation & Downsizing Solution. We handle all of the details from start to finish.

The opposite happened.

Caring Transitions of Desert Cities only assigned ONE person to help me out with an unpacking job that took two people all day to pack up - and unpacking always takes longer, of course. She barely got through half the kitchen and left me with 39 still-packed boxes, and the best the company could do was offer to send two more people, two days later. NOT the service for which I had contracted. And until I got pretty firm in my emails and texts, franchise owner Michele McGregor couldn't even manage an apology and even then was clearly trying to avoid personal responsibility. She said miscommunication from the other franchisee about how much stuff I had was one cause - but the other franchisee clearly understood how much volume I had based on the number she assigned to help me pack up, so McGregor's excuses don't pass the smell test.

I scrambled and found a local professional organizer who's coming in to help me out instead. Cost more but at least the job will get done.

If someone else avoids their own issues with Caring Transitions as a result of my review, at least I'll feel good about that.

And here's an update. To my unpleasant surprise, the same person who had represented Caring Transitions to unpack me two days ago just returned for another day's work. Apparently owner Michele McGregor never told her I'd fired the company and so she came all the way here for nothing. I learned from her that this is common practice by McGregor so - buyer beware!

Postscript: Ms. McGregor did, to her credit, ultimately do the right thing, acknowledge responsibility, and made appropriate written and financial amends.
