Excellent service. I used this firm to represent my fiancé who is not a stranger to the system and when I tell you that I was so impressed with the service and her representation. I was shopping around for attorneys that will represent him and was getting no where after talking to Mrs. McKoy, I knew that this was the firm that I wanted to represent him. I am so happy that I made this choice. She was very knowledgeable and straight forward on what she could do for him and the outcome was what we prayed for. Hopefully, we will never need her services again but if we do I know that we are in good hands.

UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNPREPARED!

Tamika McKoy initially impressed us with her professional knowledge and experience when we sought her legal representation for our daughter. However, it was all downhill from there. Throughout the entire year and a half long legal process, she kept us and our daughter completely in the dark: NEVER communicating with any of us prior to court appearances and only RELUCTANTLY and BEGRUDGINGLY responding to our requests for updates afterwards.

For one scheduled court date, Tamika failed to show up. We had to track her down through her office assistant, who resisted our requests to reach her, stating that she was busy. For the other scheduled court appearances, Tamika continually seemed unprepared. At the final court session, she did not provide any appropriate counsel or guidance to our daughter for her court testimony (or that she would even need to provide any testimony).

We never got a clear sense of how, or how much, Tamika was advocating on our daughter’s behalf. We virtually had zero communication with her. We were very unhappy with her representation and would DEFINITELY not recommend her.

If you are looking for someone who will come to court unprepared and unprofessional this is the one. She will not answer or return your calls, and if you get the chance to get her on the phone she will treat you like a burden. I hired her for family court and never knew if she would show up, once she did it was clear that she was not prepared. I paid 5 grand and heard all of this great information from her staff, once I paid it was impossible to get the help that I was promised. Now I am out of the money and called and email 8 months ago with no reply. My situation is very difficult because of a spiteful woman and I made them aware of this, but once they took my case their legal aid was extremely rude and expected me to do most of the work. I was passed of to someone new and have received no help since. This firm does not care and did not help me, now I am out of money and even though my children’s mother doesn’t follow the court order I am stuck and hurting more then ever. I expressed my displeasure and her response was that she shows up to court so I’m getting my money worth. As the mother of my children has expressed in a review, Mrs. Mckoy filed one motion that was very unprofessional and included misspelled words, I had to file additional motions on my own because she was not available. I am unable to speak to my children and their mother feels invincible because she knows that when we go to court my lawyer is not prepared or invested in helping me. Please do not waste your time or money, it will not end well and you will be worse off then when you started alone.

Update- still waiting for a call back, I wish the New Jersey bar read reviews because this is unacceptable.

Tamika is great and her Team as well. I could not have asked for a better attorney in my situation. She stood her ground with her knowledge and experiences in criminal law. She is understanding, supportive and detail oriented. She understood my needs and help guide me through this difficult time in my life. I am very pleased with the outcome of my battle. All I can say is that Tamika Mckoy is the best lawyer. Her law office helped me with all the questions I had about my case each time I stopped by. She went to the court with me many times until my court matter was resolved. She fought hard in my defense and got me the best possible outcome. I was very happy with my service.

This lawyer is not well versed in family law and did not do thorough research. She even handed in documentation with misspelled words. She also filed the incorrect paperwork for her client, which caused for it to be dismissed in court. She spent too much time and energy on information that was not factual and had the audacity and nerve to question my integrity. Her false claims were shut down! Also, while I was speaking in court she made extremely rude gestures and rolled her eyes. Although she was not my lawyer, there is a level of respect that every one deserves. The worst part is she judged a situation and judged me as a woman and parent and knows absolutely nothing about me. She lacked professionalism and it was very disappointing to see a woman such as herself conduct herself in the manner that she did. If you need a lawyer pertaining to family law, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

Go elsewhere. Ms. Mckoy is unprofessional. Atleast two of the five star reviews are her family members lying for her on here. Her husband and brother for example. Just imagine what else she would do to manipulate those who have dealings with this "law firm". Buyer BEWARE! 1 star because 0 isn't permitted.
