My daughter has been excited to come with no hesitation. It’s a safe and quiet learning space where there’s one tutor per table. The director named Brian worked within our budget and schedule to accommodate us and it’s been easy to communicate through text for scheduling.

I had been paying for private tutors for my second grader for some time but found it frustrating that if scheduling didn’t work out, we completely missed a week. Also, I felt a bit of responsibility to come up with things to work on for my child during their time with the tutor and ultimately just ended up using the time for homework. At Sylvan, they follow their own curriculum so my son masters the different topics that school covers and then moves on from. Additionally if there is a topic that is glaring to me that he needs help with or a test coming up, I can just mention that and they pivot and will cover that topic. Also, if our schedule changes, it’s easy to work out another time to come when there is availability. I looked at a couple of lower level competitors but didn’t like the classroom approach. At Sylvan, my son sits at a small desk with 1 or 2 other kids and has been with the same tutor since we started back in January. I can see that he is growing more confident in math and his grades are starting to climb too. This is more affordable than 1:1 tutoring, more consistent and more effective. The owner, Anthony is also a parent and an experienced business owner - he clearly knows how to operate a successful program.

Our child attends the learning pod when not attending in person classes during the week. Sylvan has created a fantastic environment that has the same warmth of home without the 100s of distractions. Many thanks to the team for putting together such an incredible resource. It's is such a relief to know that our child is participating (thriving!) while attending virtual school lessons without one (or both) of us constantly having to nag him in the process! We can't thank the sylvan team enough for their hard work and generosity with their time and insights. I will also add that the center is spotless, mask wearing is mandatory and hand sanitizing is a constant activity. Our child's school has done an incredible job of maintaining a healthy, clean and productive environment amidst this crisis and this center is just as good if not better.

Sylvan of Caldwell has been supporting my son during this time of the COVID crisis where I'm expected to home school my second grader. Sylvan has been helping me tutor him, picking up where I leave off helping him finish all of his daily assignments.

I can't begin to say how much easier my life has become with this support. I was losing my mind, and had a very therapeutic conversation with Michelle the director, who was extremely understanding, kind and open to helping in any way which she could.

Michelle and Anna have both been wonderful. They have transitioned to tutoring online, almost seamlessly, as though they have been doing it for years, when this is all very new territory.

They have been flexible with timing, are efficient in getting work done quickly, and my son is developing the confidence he needs in his school work while going through this major time of transition during this pandemic. I highly recommend reaching out to Sylvan for your children's learning needs. Best investment I've made for him so far...

My son had a perfect no-pressure and accommodating experience starting with his diagnostic test to his SAT and ACT test. Sylvan built a personalized plan for him (thank you Latoya and Anna) working our SAT target date (Oct of Junior), budget and schedule-constraints (we had to take a two month off in the summer). The plan included one on one training split between Math and English/Reading. Sylvan also provided excellent online tests and material for the summer break. We added an at-the-center test once-a-month for more real experience that Sylvan accommodated. The teachers worked on his weak areas and trained him on test-taking techniques (and hacks!) that helped him add about 80 to 100 points in his final SAT test in October'18 to a 1500. Not being satisfied, he attempted ACT in February 2019- with more efforts on his side, and came up with a perfect 36! He gladly acknowledges and credits 50% of the improvement to Sylvan (the rest 50 being his own efforts). Thank you Sylvan of Caldwell!
