One of the Least Accommodating Airports I’ve Ever Experienced

I am convinced that the majority of these reviews are fake because I’ve had multiple friends who have had negative experiences with this airport. If you’re flying out of Eagle Airport, be prepared for zero flexibility and poor service. I missed the bag check cut-off by three minutes—not thirty, not an hour, but three—and the staff refused to even attempt to get my bag on the flight. They didn’t care that I was right there, ready to go. Instead, their only solution was to rebook me on a later flight that would have me arriving seven hours later.

To make matters worse, the flight ended up being delayed, meaning I was actually within the bag check cut-off time. Did they offer to put my bag on at that point? Of course not. No logic, no customer service, just a rigid adherence to a rule that could have been worked around with even a little effort.

Adding to the frustration, Google lists this airport as having Clear, but that’s completely false. If you were counting on using Clear to get through security faster, think again.

Overall, this is a tiny airport that somehow manages to be both inconvenient and unhelpful. If you have other options, take them.

Nice regional airport with public bus service to Avon and Vail for only #3. Runs every hour.

Only complaint is this airport is so far away from Avon, Beaver Creek, and Vail. Bus ride to Avon is 46 minutes and more than 20 miles. 😕

Super friendly staff, the waiting area down stated pre Security check in needs a makeover & upgrades, once you pass the security you enter a different world upstair top floor where the gates for all terminals are is state of art and super clean and comfortable well designed.
Overall it’s a 5 star experience, I was stuck there for couple of days due to cancellations and they accommodated me. Aspen airport compared to Vail is a complete disaster minus the staff which are super helpful and friendly too.

Takes bare minimum 45 minutes to get your checked bag from the plane on this little tiny airport. May as well hit the bar or order some food first if you check a bag you will certainly lose another hour of your life. And why wouldn’t they have every flight come in all at once to slow it down more. But even if you are the only flight. Still 45+ mins for your bag. .. should be 0 stars but If you dont check a bag then it could be convenient

This airport is amazing!!! Everything is super slick (quick security, extremely nice airport, good services for a small airline) and they have lots of really good flights for a decent price as well. I will absolutely fly out of EGE whenever I am able to!

My flight from Dallas was delayed 21 times for a day, then canceled to the next day, but my bag showed up at Eagle/Vail with all my ski gear a day early. I was told at Dallas that since my flight originated in Dallas, I couldn't have vouchers or hotel, even after traveling 3 hrs to get there. When I finally got to Eagle Vail, after a search, I was told my bag was not there, so I left. Soon after, I was told my bag was there, just hadn't been seen earlier. My whole family enjoyed skiing while I waited...American Airlines should be your absolute LAST choice for travel!
