This is my first time using Zego as a resident through my apartment complex. This company needs to seriously get themselves together. I tried putting in my security deposit to secure my apartment, which I had done a week ago. I put in my direct banking information to avoid the platform fee. I then received an email today that the payment had bounced back due to them not finding an account under the information I had given them. I find this strange considering that my apartment complex had received the payment (or at the very least an email confirming that it was processing) and I received no error message claiming that the information that was put in was incorrect. I ended up calling customer support to which the first lady had informed me that the apartments had initially received an email that the payment was processing before it was bounced back. I still find this odd considering, AGAIN, neither myself nor the apartments were notified that the information given was incorrect. I was then transferred to another woman after I had told the first that I wanted to confirm the banking information that I had put in (I also was struggling to log into my actual Zego account - I tried forgot password but received no emails to make that change. It wasn't until the second lady sent me directly an email to change my password). The second woman then could not directly give me the information of my initial payment to confirm what I had put in. I then told her that I was going to give her my payment information directly over the phone to make sure the information was correct and that it goes through without issue. She then claims there is a $10 platform fee. No, there isn't. According to the website, if you put in your direct banking information, you could avoid the platform fee. She tells me that the information is incorrect and for me to just finish it myself on the website. Spoilers, there's no platform fee if you put in your bank information, she's just wrong and trying to squeeze the extra $10 out of me.

Property management companies and the like that are looking for an application to receive bill payments on, save your residents a headache and look somewhere else.

Terrible experience with Zego. was charged for rent twice. They incorrectly charged my old payment method, even though I had updated my payment details weeks prior to the first of the month, which led to a $25 insufficient funds fee even though it was already paid with the new payment method. When I contacted customer support to explain the issue, the representative was dismissive and was laughing at me. Not only was this charge completely unfair, but the lack of accountability and professionalism from their support team was unacceptable.

This company seems to be very poorly organized and run. The employees will be incredibly kind while they tell you they cant do anything to help you. They partner with this company called MobileDoorman for services at my property, and there is no direct way to contact the company for problems with their app or the accounts you need to use the services on site. The first time i called, they told me to call back between Mon-Friday 9-5 to speak with their upper management. It was friday at 1PM, but apparently all of their upper management went home early that day and no one could open the ticket. Then I called back monday explaining that i was hoping to rent the clubhouse for that night and was assured that MobileDoorman gets their tickets resolved within a few hours. It is now two days later and I called again to be told that i just have to wait and they have no way of helping me or contacting the company to resolve the issue. I had to get cashiers checks to rent the room (which cost me money and time to drive to a bank for something I am supposed to be able to do through their app). With a smile, each employee basically told me they could not and would not do anything to help. Instead of acknowledging that they failed to follow through on their commitments, they say in a singsong saccharine voice that they are "Very Sorry" I dont want apologies, I want resolutions. I asked for a supervisor and was directly told that they dont have any higher levels of management and i was out of luck. What a terrible lack of responsibility for a company. If your property management company uses them, be aware its terrible.

Charging a $49.95 "platform fee" for a transaction instead of the usual card fees is outright robbery. As an HOA member, I've never encountered anything like this, and I often wonder if kickbacks are involved. It's unheard of to have such a high "transaction" fee. If it were a one-time charge, fine, but every single transaction? Seriously?

I’ve been using Zego for a while now, and honestly, it’s made my job so much easier. The payment system is super user-friendly, both for me and the residents. I love that they can pay rent online with options like ACH, credit card, or even cash—it cuts down on late payments and headaches.

The utility billing feature is a lifesaver, too. It automates everything, so I don’t have to spend hours dealing with spreadsheets or answering billing questions. Plus, residents appreciate the transparency.

What really sets Zego apart, though, are the resident engagement tools. Sending announcements or surveys is quick and easy, and it helps build a stronger sense of community. The smart home features, like keyless entry, are just icing on the cake—our tenants love the added convenience.

All in all, Zego has been a huge win for us. It’s streamlined so many processes and made life easier for both our team and our residents. Highly recommend!

We had began using Zego services about a year ago and it has been the best decision we have made as a company. Their product integration has really brought our company into the 21st century and has allowed us to work smarter rather than harder. Our tenants appreciate the ease of use as well and has been a great addition to our business.
